Basic Info
Name:tezuka kunimitsu
Birthdate:10-06
Location:Tokyo, Japan
Website:the flower and willow world
Bio
Name: Tezuka Kunimitsu

Age: 20

Status: Geisha

Appearance: Tezuka has changed little from his appearance in the anime, with a few notable exceptions. His hair is longer, nearly shoulder length, a dark brown with golden streaks in his hair and he wears contacts while training and entertaining. In fact, the only people to see him with his glasses on are the other geishas.

Personality: From a glance, Tezuka seems to personify two of the standards of ancient Japan: nobility and courage. It seems almost odd for him to be a geisha - a position that was once considered prostitution, even if the geishas were not being paid for sex. The job takes a lot out of him, requiring Tezuka, by nature given to solitude and silence, to be friendly, slightly flirtatiousk and share with strange men stories, poetry, and even dance for them, none of which is natural for him.

But since starting his training, more of Tezuka's nature has started to show through: he wants to set an example, not only for his fellow geishas, but for the apprentices he knows they will all have one day, and deep down, he wants to be the best, although not many people realize such things; they see Tezuka and do not believe such seflishness can exist inside such a person as Tezuka. He is willing to work hard to achieve his goal, and give up anything else that he might have - a normal teenage sex drive, for example - that would get in his way, in order to achieve his dreams.

History: Tezuka Kunimitsu has known love all of his life. His mother doted on him, his father and grandfather were proud of the naturally intelligent, quiet boy who brought home perfect grades. It was his father and grandfather who instilled in him the differences between right and wrong, taught him what fair play was, and showed him that responsibility was important. It was his mother who showed him grace, kindness, and love - to this day, his mother is the only woman able to make him smile.

The Tezuka's recieved a visit from Hanamura-san, who was acquainted with the family, and were shocked to hear the offer. The elder Tezuka's refused to allow their son join such a profession - even if they were not whores, such a position was still considered a prostitution of the self, and none of them were willing to allow Tezuka to do such a thing. But none of them counted on Tezuka himself. Nor his decision, made the night after Hanamura's visit, to accept. Up until that point in his life, nothing had caught his interest or his determination: this, this training to be a geisha, had already struck his curiosity.

There were no earth shattering arguments or screaming fights, but the disapproval of Tezuka's decision was evident in the air. It took days for Tezuka to convince his family, for none of them wished to cave. In the end, it was the threat of Tezuka leaving, without a word, that swayed his family - Tezuka, selfless to a fault, was finally being selfish.

The environment of the okiya was different than anything Tezuka had experienced, and training was, at first, hard - he had never touched a musical instrument, let alone ones as complex as the traditional Japanese instruments they were required to learn. Singing came naturally, as did dance - and the latter talent was the one Tezuka found the most joy in and the one he became most proficient in. His dance is spectacular, the traditional Noh movements perfect for Tezuka.

Over time, the life he had chosen to lead had became easier to handle, sleeping in a room with two other boys a fact of life, listening to patrons and telling stories something he looked forward to. There was nothing Tezuka would do to endanger his position as a geisha, for he had come to love it.

Anything else: Tezuka is torn on the adoption aspect: part of him wants to stay and take over the okiya and part of him is constantly driven by the thought of moving out into his own apartment, and perhaps one day, given the support, starting his own okiya, that would be home to yet another handful of boys. That day is far away, however, and for the moment, he is content under Hanamura's roof, even if it is a tight squeeze.
